How to set up a new hard disk in windows 7/8/8.1/10 step by step tutorial

If you bought a new hard drive and plug it in your PC, then if your operating system is windows, then it'll doesn't show in file explorer directly. If you facing this problem so you are not alone. This is a normal problem.You just need to follow some simple steps and then your hard disk will be ready to use.

Steps you need to follow to set up your hard disk:

 step1

    Go to start menu and then search "computer management" or right click on "this PC" shortcut and select "Manage"

    Then a window opens up like below

    now double click on "storage"

    Now click on that only option shown over the window named "disk management" and you will be redirected to disk management window.

    Now you can see a black strapped unallocated disk. Simply right click on it and click on "New Simple Volume" from the list.

Step4

    Now chose how much storage you want in a particular partition.

Then click next a couple of time. Redo the same with the remaining unallocated disk.

Now your hard disk is completely usable.
