What is VoLTE ?

What is VoLTE ?

VoLTE stands for Voice Over LTE(Long Term Evolution). It is actually what it's been pronounced that is voice calls over LTE network rather than 2G or 3G network. The LTE network is highly used over the world for downloading, streaming, web browsing and many more high bandwidth purposes. So with the researches this VoLTE technology is invented to improve the quality of calls where the voice is being send via the LTE network in the form of packets of data.

As the speed of a LTE-4G network is so higher than 2G or 3G network, so the packets of voice data can be send in very higher quantity at a less ping. So the quality of the call can be improved through it. The calls made through a LTE network called a VoLTE call and usually called as HD call. It makes easier to make out not only what the person on the other end of the line is saying, but also their tone of voice.

VoLTE can connect calls up to twice as fast as the current methods and as 2G and 3G connections will still be available when there’s no 4G signal it simply means that there’s greater mobile coverage overall.

Anyone who currently uses 4G could also find their battery life increased with VoLTE, as without it whenever you make or receive a call your phone has to switch from 4G to 2G or 3G, since 4G calls aren’t supported and then once the call is finished it switches back again to 4G. All that switching, plus the need to search for a different signal each time, can give the battery a significant hit. Because of this hit the battery drained much faster. But in case of VoLTE, there's no switching between any networks. There calls are made through that 4G LTE network itself.

But in order to use VoLTE service you must need a VoLTE supported phone and VoLTE supported network provider or ISP
